- Title: Quantum Physics in Minutes – The Inner Workings of Our Universe Explained in an Instant
- Writer: Gemma Lavender
- Publication Date: —
- Format: PDF
- International review (from Amazon):
The topics are carefully written in bite sized chunks (and accompanied with helpful graphics or photos) which can be consumed in a few minutes each. Each section makes sense in its own right, but the author has been careful to cater for readers like me who want to start at the beginning and feel there is a clear narrative to follow.
Some of the concepts are mind-bending of course, and I’ve found myself re-reading many sections several times. Gemma does not over simplify anything but also manages to avoid complex abstract mathematics which can be off-putting for some. For some topics, it would be nice to break away from the ‘bite-sized’ format and allow the story or explanation to develop more naturally, but that that would change the point of the whole book. I’ve also found it to be a handy reference when reading other popular physics books, to dip in to and refresh my understanding of something specific. I think it will continue to serve this function for a long time to come! Overall a very good read and highly recommended.
